Professor Peter B Farmer
Professor Farmer was appointed as chair of COM in November 2001. He has previously been a member of the Committee on Carcinogenicity before he became a member of COM in April 2000. Since becoming a chair he also serves as a member on the COC. His main research interests are in the investigation and use of chemical induced DNA and protein adducts in carcinogen/mutagen risk assessment and the development of biomarkers for cancer risk assessments. He has an international reputation in this area and is involved in several EU collaborative research activities.
