Dr Gareth Jenkins
Dr Jenkins was appointed to COM in 2009 and has 15 years experience in the field of Genetic Toxicology. His research interests include the molecular basis for mutation induction and its consequences. His research group also investigate the molecular defects in various cancers of the Gastrointestinal Tract in an effort to identify diagnostic markers and therapeutic targets. Much of this research is focussed on examining pre-cancerous conditions to detect the earliest signs of carcinogenesis. He has an international reputation in both the fields of Genetic Toxicology and in molecular carcinogenesis.
